What is PADI?

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors or PADI is the world’s leading scuba diving training organization with more than 5300 dive schools and resorts worldwide with up to 70% of the worlds divers taking a PADI course when they learn to dive.


PADI Open Water Qualifying Dives 

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular entry level dive course in the world and is valid everywhere.

There are several options when you learn to scuba dive by completing the PADI Open Water Diver Course. The first option is to complete the theory and pool for the course here in the UK and the 4 qualifying dives abroad on your own holiday. If this is the course you are looking for please click here.

The second option is to complete the full PADI Open Water Diver course here in the UK or on a holiday with Dive Wimbledon. If this is the scuba diving course you are looking for then please click here.

The third option which is on this page is if you have completed the PADI Open Water Referral course including all the theory and pool skills for the PADI Open Water Diver Course and are just looking to complete the 4 qualifying dives here in the UK or with Dive Wimbledon on one of our overseas holidays like Hurghada in Egypt in March.

  • 4 Open Water Dives completed in drysuits from now until April.
  • Small classes
  • Have valid PADI Open Water Referral paperwork or logbook completed within the last year
  • If the Referral course was completed several months ago a refresher may be required at additional cost. Enquire for more information
  • PADI Open Water Diver certification card
  • Qualified to dive to 18 metres with a buddy
  • Your certification card is valid for life but frequent pool refreshers and practise pool sessions are highly recommended. As a Dive Wimbledon student you are invited to join our friendly and dive club for social events and diving here and abroad.

  • Minimum 10 years of age
  • Have completed the PADI Open Water Referral scuba diving course within the last year
  • £185 Plus £10 entry per day to the lake payable to the lake directly on the day (£20 total)
  • If the Referral course was completed several months ago you may require a pool refresher session before your dives at additional cost.

  • The PADI Open Water completion dives take place at Wraysbury Lake near Windsor or on one of our overseas Egyptian Red Sea holidays to Marsa Alam in late Feb/ March 2017.
